Pin Up Girl and Model Gina Carla

by Sad Man’s Tongue

We posted a gallery on this Swiss beauty a week ago called, Switzerlands Own Gina Carla, and were enchanted by her smile. So we wanted to know more and sent a series of questions for her to answer. Despite her busy schedule and her current shoot in Austria, this class act took the time to answer those questions. Interview below.

SMT: What was the pivotal point in your life that made you want to model? Was it a movie, a poster, a person or event?

GC: I got for Christmas a Book from Sophia Loren. She always was (and still is) a big inspiration to me. I looked at this Book and I said to my Boyfriend “hey i wanna do that too” and he actually said “if you really want that, then do it” . But at this time, I was 20kg heavier then now. but i started to eat healthy and went to the gym to loose a bit of weight and feel more comfortable. I’ll show all of you how I did that on youtube and facebook in the future.

SMT: . You say you are new to modelling and only started in 2011, what was the catalyst that made you go all the way?

GC: I had to change my whole thinking .I  had to make a goal in my life, who I wanted to be and how I wanted to feel.

My boyfriend was a big help for me with all the changes. He pushed me to do everything. What I really needed. Without him, I wouldn’t be here where I am now. We made some pictures with an easy camera and he is doing a good job.

SMT: I assume you travel quite a bit, what city inspires you the most?

GC: Actually I don’t have a city which inspires me the most. It depends on the person who is traveling with me, but if i have to choose it may be Hamburg.

SMT: While we focused on photos of you that were a bit rockabilly, pin-up or vintage inspired, Is Rockabilly style a passion for you and if so why?

GC: My Mother is a big fan of Rock’a’Billy, Swing, Pin Up’s and everything of the 30’s till early 60’s. I grew up with that and I’m in love with this time.

SMT:  What is your favorite Rockabilly, Punk, Rock, or psychobillyor  band?

GC: I love Elvis, Chuck Berry, Frankie Lymon and much much more. Right now I’m listening to Dick Brave & the Backbeats

I don’t have a favourite Band. The Music has to match my mood. There are times I’m listening to Queen, AC/DC. What I don’t like is depressive music.

SMT:  Give our readers a beauty tip.

GC: Beauty comes from inside. Love yourself and see what happens 🙂 and red lipsti

SMT: Now for some Favs: Who is your favorite actor and actress between 1930 – 1965?

GC: Sophia Loren and Clark Gable

SMT: What is your long term goal?

GC: Model/Actress and living a good life

SMT: Ahh La Dolce Vita. Any advice for those who would want to start in the pin-up and modeling role.

GC: Just do it 🙂

SMT:  What’s your favorite book.

GC: David Deida, German Title Du bist Liebe

SMT: . Where were you born and how would you describe your childhood, were their any events when you were growing up that made you think you wanted to be a model?

GC: I was born in Flawil, its a small town in Switzerland. My Childhood was very good but not always easy for me and my brother. As a Kid I always wanted to be a Busdriver 🙂 But That was in Kindergarten, i never thought to be a model in my childhood because I was fat and ugly ^^ Haha

SMT: So the ugly duckling has become a beautiful swan lol.  You say you are in Austria doing a shoot, can you tell us anything about it?

GC: It was one of my model assignments

SMT:  Is there one person in your life that gives you inspiration.

GC: My Boyfriend and Sophia Loren

SMT: If you could show someone Switzerland, but could only show them one place, that would sum it up for them, where would you take them?

GC: I would show the Mountain “Säntis” It’s my Favourite Mountain of Switzerland.

We thank you so much for answering our questions and we look forward to seeing more from you and wish you the best of luck in your endeavors.
