Once again my friends Christmas and New years is over and the doldrums of winter is upon us. But there is a beacon of light towards the end of the month. On Saturday January 26th the 2nd Annual Rockabilly Rumble will be held at the Hard Rock Cafe in Prague to benefit The Tereza Maxová Foundation.
Slapdash Rockabilly Trio will be taking the stage at 8:00 pm for another of their high rockin’ shows, followed by DJ Gargoil at 10:30pm to polish off the night with some great Retro and Modern Rockabilly and Psychobilly tunes.
So if you were looking for a reason to come to Prague, you now have an excuse. The best thing however, is the fact that all money raised will go to benefit the Tereza Maxová Foundation, which helps support and prevent orphaned children. According to the foundation their goals are;
prevention of unnecessary removal of a child from its family. We believe that children fare the best in their own biological families, which is why we offer specific assistance to endangered families via professional non-profit organizations. In this area the Foundation provides financial support to non-governmental non-profit organizations that provide consultancy and tailor-made assistance to families in crisis or all sorts of therapies etc
Support of the substitute family care. If the prevention mechanisms fail and the child is taken out of the family environment, then we strive for the considerable shortening of his or her stay in institutional care. By supporting the extension of all forms of alternative family care and the professionalization of foster care, we strive to secure safety and the loving arms of a foster mother and father as fast as possible for the child.
Compensation for the inefficiencies of institutional care is an area where the Foundation gives direct individual support to children and young people growing up outside of their family with primary focus on investments in their education and preparation for their independent life after leaving the institution.
The foundation’s purpose is all-around support and assistance to underprivileged and abandoned children with the goal of making a healthy and safe life in a family environment possible for them.
In addition to the great entertainment planned there will be a vendor section featuring Lucky Hazzard Clothing and Dream Star Photo Studio, along with hair and make up styling and a tattoo corner. There are also prizes for the best Rockabilly Look, Best Rockabilly Couple, Best Tattoo, and of course Sexiest Legs. So come dressed to not only play the part but come help and do your part for a worthy cause.
