No one can deny the classic images of Bettie Page and Marilyn Monroe as culture icons. These photos of Czech super model Eva Herzigova taken by photographer Ellen Von Unwerth in the 1990s have also become a classic. Paying homage to the two greats Page and Monroe Eva slips into the role as Ellen Von Unwerth brings out the mystique of the icons they pay homage to.

Eva is noted as having been the first model for the Wonder Bra campaign and also having married Tico Torres, the drummer from Bon Jovi, which ended in divorce two years later. Today she lives in Turin, Italy and is happily married and expecting her third child.

While beauty eventually fades the photos and photography of Ellen Von Unwerth do not. This acclaimed photographer is still at it recently doing a shoot with David Bowie and Kate Moss for Men’s Daily.

    Gorgeous pictures.

  3. Truly fantastic…love the girl, the mood, the composition…THE CLOTHES!

  4. Wow, she is meant for Pinup, she really does Bettie and Marilyn crazy good!

  5. Over a decade ago, Eva Herzigova posed as the late Betty Page in Max. Normally I hate pin-up inspired shoots since they usually come off as dull or cheesy. But Ellen von Unwerth knows how to photograph sensuality like nobody else. It’s sexy without being too raunchy, and I think Eva channels Betty Page effortlessly.
