We feature a lot of great photographers and their work here at Sad Man’s Tongue and work with several on a steady basis. It’s always nice to come across something new and edgy that catches our eye and a young photographer from Tracy, California, Jesse Alford, is just that.

Once again we were looking for one thing and found something else. Jesse’s photographs are an edgy modern interpretation from a photographer that evokes parallels to the work of Chas Ray Krider. In so much that the model and setting is molded by the photographer and becomes less about the model and more about the photograph and the feeling the photographer chooses to invoke in us.

Jesse graduated from New York Institute of Photography in 2010 and in 2011 was one of the founders of Like Magazine which is quite cool and best yet, subscriptions are free. Be sure to check it out.
