Kustom Kulture. What is it? If anyone has a chance of explaining to the average person what it is then Dirk “The Pixeleye” Behlau would sure know how. With three published books, six co-published books, several music videos, short films, and documentaries who the hell could even argue with him. We sure won’t. No one else we know can quite tell the story and bring it to life in photos like he can. Cologne Germany has more than one treasure in its midst.

Of course what is Kustom Kulture without the pin up girl close by. And who better to represent it than Pin Up Girl Lulu von Löffelstiel of Germany. This Bavarian beauty inspires the “femininity and elegance” of the pin up style of the 1950s. Clearly Lulu exudes a sex appeal that has been lost in the modern age by the average girl on the street but is born again from her homage to its past.

Enjoy today’s Gallery to the music of Spain’s Freddie and the Filos with their song “Killin’ Chance.”
