Gil Elvgren’s Redheads – Via Retrorambling

11390_ge6I suppose I love red heads like the next person. Found this post over at Retrorambling and what a great blog they have. Check them out and check out the Red Heads of Gil Elvgren.

Elvgren was a commercial success. he lived in various locations, and was active from the 1930s to 1970s. His clients ranged from Brown and Bigelow and Coca-Cola to General Electric and Sealy Mattress Company. In addition, during the 1940s and 1950s he illustrated stories for a host of magazines, such as The Saturday Evening Post and Good Housekeeping.

What ever else can be said of the man, he loved redheads in all shades and forms. And from my point of view there’s no shame in that – Ted
